Great Recession will haunt millions into their retirement years, study finds
Thu May 16, 2013
32 years old, I have never contributed to a 401K. My 1st employer post college gave me a few thousand dollars at my 2nd year on the job, when I did not stay the full 3 years, everything was taken back except the interest I earned (approx. $300 these days).
More women opting for preventive mastectomy - but should they be?
Wed May 15, 2013
I am 32 years old and my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 7. Back then, it was a death sentence and she was only 38 (which was unheard of being diagnosed that young back then). My only recollection of that time was seeing my Mother bandaged up and not understanding what was wrong.

I don't want nor expect a bailout! I went to college and I am going to pay it off!!! What I want is the OPTION to re-fi my student loan.
Jeanne Cooper, longtime 'Young and the Restless' star, dies at 84
Wed May 8, 2013
Katherine Chancellor played by the larger than life Jeanne Cooper, you will be missed! I started watching Y&R at a very young age waiting for my pre-school afternoon bus with my Mom & Grandma and still catch the show from time to time if I am off from work. Ms. Cooper was a favor …
Student loan debt putting damper on housing demand
Mon Apr 22, 2013
Go to school part-time? How stupid someone is to get into debt over $100K for school? I do not get how anyone in the 21st century cannot understand why someone wants a college education. Going part-time to school can take over 8 years. Think 2 classes each semester, that …
Student loan woes put dreams on hold
Sun Apr 14, 2013
It will be ten years next month that I graduated from college. The first 3 years, I paid variable interest on all Stafford loans (Sallie Mae is the lender). When I graduated from a certificate program post college, I locked the interested on those Stafford loans at 3.5%.
Sandy Hook principal's daughter on Twitter tear against filibuster senators
Wed Apr 10, 2013
Less than 35 minutes from the town I went to Elementary school in... The Sandy Hook tragedy hit too close to home this time for my state to stay silent. Little babies were gunned down in heinous violence, many had more than 10 gunshot wounds in their little bodies.
Interest on government student loans set to double this summer
Tue Apr 9, 2013
The Government wants to double the interest rates on student loans for what purpose? For Congress' raise or maybe to help pay down the national debt? I am lucky, I locked my Federal Loans in YEARS ago at a 3.65% interest rate through Sallie Mae.
Chief justice's lesbian cousin will attend landmark gay-marriage argument
Mon Mar 25, 2013
May I ask specifically where these statistic were obtained beyond your footnotes at the bottom of your post? Someone chooses to be gay? That sounds like a bias far right conservative study.
Not-so-golden years: Over 75, burdened by debt
Tue Feb 26, 2013
My Grandma passed away at 94 years old with NO debt and enough savings to pay for her funeral and a little something left over for my Mom. She lived a modest life as a seamstress, shoe maker, a factory worker until she retired at 65 years old.
